about espadrilles - HIDE
Some sources credit the Spanish with the making of espadrille shoes; others claim that the term "espadrille" is French. Whatever their origin, espadrille shoes are very European, very versatile, and, as evidenced by their prevalence this season, very chic.

Espadrille shoes are distinguished by their woven, rope-like sole. The uppers and silhouettes of espadrille shoes vary, but commonly appear as sandals with fabric or leather straps. With the casual personality displayed by their natural materials, espadrille shoes have become a classic in warm weather footwear.

The details are what individuate each espadrille shoe from the other. By borrowing elements from other styles, no two espadrille shoes are alike. The Rocket Dog Gatwick, for example, sets itself apart with a jeweled t-strap atop its platform espadrille sole. The colorful Irregular Choice Hula Girl 30576 does things a little differently as a pump-inspired espadrille shoe bedecked with tropical flowers. And the Steve Madden Pacha takes things even further—this espadrille shoe boasts a delicately beaded thong strap above a tall wedge heel.

While espadrille shoes are certainly scaling the top of the trend charts, following this fashion doesn't mean blending in. With the many varieties of espadrille shoes Solestruck offers, you're sure to find a perfect fit for your unique sense of style.

About Solestruck Vintage

Each pair of SOLESTRUCK VINTAGE shoes has been specially handpicked by one of our buyers for its unique style and quality. We loved these shoes and we hope you do too.

Things to keep in mind when buying Vintage...

Please carefully review the sizing and insole measurements listed. When in doubt, order up as Vintage items in general run narrow and/or small. For the most part, Solestruck Vintage Items have been previous worn and show noticeable signs age as well as wear and tear. This is part of the charm and we do our best to accurately show and describe the condition of the shoe.

If you have any questions at all about a certain style, please email us at customerservice@solestruck.com and we will happily assist you and provide any additional information to help you make an informed decision.

How we rate condition...

Great means the item has either never been worn, or previously worn but with minimal flaws (but still possibly noticeable).

Good means it has noted flaws but is in overall decent vintage condition. This includes minor stains, scuff marks, and/or tears.

Fair/poor means it has noted serious flaws, such as stains, scuffs or more extreme wear but is still wearable and/or easily fixed.
