My wife had a pair of sneakers a long time ago with a sole like this and she was so excited to see it on a high heel boot! Once she buckles these on look out--she won't shift her stride for anything. She wears them all the time, in the snow, rain, anywhere really. Whatever she may walk on is dealt with by the thick hard sole and the sharp sawtooth tread. She claims she never feels much of anything either under the platform. The sides of the platforms are easy to clean too so she will gladly walk in mud or on a larger mess. People often ask about the boots, especially the powerful tread and she is happy to show them the soles. More often than not there is evidence of her walking habits stuck in them and it gives her something to tell the person about--"someone had dropped their hamburger over there" she said the other day. What the person didn't know was that my wife had aimed for it and walked squarely on it, leaving it mashed on the floor and almost cut into pieces the size of her tread!

This shoe is a great alternative to the Jeffrey Campbell boot camp that sells out so quickly every time! I love the edge that the treaded sole gives this boot. Nice and tall but really easy to walk in still. Fit was true to size and I think it would work for wide feet too.
