Soft leather, comfy and easy to walk in, looks great on the feet, and goes with absolutely everything. I'm a JC size 8, but something made me size up in these. And I'm so glad I did! Size 9 fit my narrow feet like a glove - custom made for me, not only in the front but also at the heel. I rarely find shoes that fit that well, but these are pure perfection without any need of breaking in. I'm in love with the texture combination too - pony hair and soft leather making a neutral colored shoe more interesting, and the narrow - almost stillettolike - wedge heel. However, the colour I received isn't the same as in the picture - my shoes are a true neutral beige, nothing like tan or caramell. I'm sure this makes this shoe the most versatile pair I own, bringing more interest to black or colured outfits, and even browns and other neutrals. I just need to get over the fact that I must have ordered the wrong colour to begin with - I was really out for the blue ones!
